    what a day!

We were on our way to the airport and couldn't get in time to catch our flight. but we were not the only ones. It was a chaos at the airport and the staff of the airlines had a hard time too to rearrange all the flights for the late passangers.

Actually, we could had manage it in time, if only the airport express journeys were organized better. Our taxi took the direct way to the Kowloon airport express station as he was warned by his colleagues about the situation on the highway to the airport. We got into the train and arrived the Tsing Yi Station. The station was filled with passengers and luggages. People rushed into the train until it was so crowded that the doors couldn't close anymore. Nobody wanted to get out of the train once got inside, even when the train could not set off because of the closind and opening doors they do not care. ("why should I get off the train?..."). It took more than 15 Minutes until train could depart from Tsing Yi Station since arrival.
No complain as everybody wanted to get to the airport asap to catch their flight. Only the management of the Airport Express should have assign more staff to control. There were only two, who were unable to cope with so many people rushing into the trains. For us, who were already in the train, it was frustrating just to sit and wait and hope that the train can finally depart when the doors closed again and again and again.

We missed the flight (by lets see 20 Minutes ago was the closing) and it was a torture to get another flight. Long queues at the check-in counters and longer queues with stressed passengers and airline staff at the ticket counter. It took me another 1 hour to get my re-booked tickets. The good news was, that the airline did not charges us any fees for the changing.

I have heard in the news that the rain won't stop and even tomorrow the way to the airport will be remain close.
The only way to the airport is using the Airport Express. We will plan at least 3 hours in advance for checking in. Who knows how many people tomorrow will want to get into the train.

    Good Luck!

Things are back to normal again, TC as well as airport buses are running.
Judging by the pictures in todays SCMP that was one big mudslide.
