Can Discovery Bay residents' children attend South Island School?

We live in Discovery Bay and are hoping to apply to ESF to transfer our son from his present school to South Island School. According to the SIS and ESF websites, Discovery Bay is not in the SIS catchment area. However, there are children who live in DB and attend SIS, so how is this possible?

The obvious explanation would be that if they moved to DB after starting at SIS, but are there any cases of children who transferred to SIS whilst already living in DB?

As you point out there is a strict catchment regime. This is part of the operational rules that govern the ESF so it is very unlikely they would be broken for an expat who wants to live outside the catchment area.

With subsidies disappearing, I'd expect those rules also to disappear - just a matter of when.
