Any plans in building a hospital in Tung Chung?

Just moved to Tung Chung and absolutely enjoy it! The only down side is there is no hospitals nearby. Does anyone know whether there is any plan in building a hospital in Tung Chung? Some construction work is going on right now near Coastal Skyline. What is it for? Any chance for a hospital? Where do you go for emergencies? I've heard calling an ambulance is free of charge. Is it true?
    Thanks very much!

your nearest hospital should be Kwai Chung Hospital or Yan Chai Hospital.
Ambulance is free if its for real emergency case, not for using if you have a flu or headache.

An ambulance would take you to Princess Margaret Hospital. The good news is that the Ambulance Station (combined with the Fire Station) is very close.

The construction behind CS is, according to a friend who just moved out, is a recreation centre and community hall-cum-library.

The population of TC is considered too small for a hospital (Tin Shiu Wai is bigger and doesn't have one) but the possibility of one is being discussed.

A site has already been allocated for a hospital in TC. But it will only be realized sometime in 2011 or later. Definitely, not for the short term needs.

    Good news, then!

Thanks for the info. It's good enough to know that there is hope ahead.
