I asked the concierge/guard of the CityGate Mall, they said that McDD may come back in 3 - 6 months to rent an 1/F or 2/F shop area. Hopefully sooner.

I heard from a source that they were closed down due to hygiene reasons.
Won't be surprised. Have you guys tried to use they McDonald's Citygate toilets? Would make you wonder if what you are eating there is still sanitary.

I tried the fries @ Kentucky Fried Cat yesterday, and guess what....? disgusting
After asking some question around in the food industry, it seems that McDonald decided to close shop in TC because of problems between the company and the franchisee. SO there is no conspiracy about it

Woo Hoo McDonalds reopening in August at Tung Chung mall.
To everyone who replied to this post and showed their support for McDees reopening in the mall....we should have a party at McDonalds in Tung Chung mall when it reopens...what do you guys say?
