    A few more questions

Hi guys, good morning. I have another few questions

    - Is there a bowling alley in Tung Chung? If so, does anybody know where?

    - Is Internet censored in Hong Kong, like in China? (thanks for the information on the prices).

    - Is there a non-stop shuttle bus to Central? If so, where can I find information on times and prices? (I read this somewhere, but forgot where).

    - When going out late a night in Central or TST, what is the best way to get back to Tung Chung, are only taxis going? Or can you (for example) take the airport express (until how late) and then take a taxi to Tung Chung?

    - Are there any bars in Tung Chung? When I was there I only saw the 'Aviator'. Other than the Citygate area, is there another area with shops / outlets / bars?

    - Are there any 'big' international banks with branches in Tung Chung, like HSBC, or Standard Chartered?

    Sincerely,
    - Wouter Steven

I think Caribbean Coast has a small one for residents. Perhaps the other estates have one too.

    - Is Internet censored in Hong Kong, like in China? (thanks for the information on the prices).
    No.

    - Is there a non-stop shuttle bus to Central? If so, where can I find information on times and prices? (I read this somewhere, but forgot where).
Only from Caribbean Coast and again only for residents.

    - When going out late a night in Central or TST, what is the best way to get back to Tung Chung, are only taxis going? Or can you (for example) take the airport express (until how late) and then take a taxi to Tung Chung?
Look into the night buses (N#). The times for the Airport Express are on the MTR website.

    - Are there any bars in Tung Chung? When I was there I only saw the 'Aviator'. Other than the Citygate area, is there another area with shops / outlets / bars?
There is a shopping centre between Citygate and the public housing estate. But no bars there. Also some restaurants at other old estate but don't know more than that.

    - Are there any 'big' international banks with branches in Tung Chung, like HSBC, or Standard Chartered?
Shanghai Commercial Bank I recall. TC is too small for these banks.

Thank you for your replies, my last question (for now):

    - Since Tung Chung is closer to the sea, do you have any troubles with the occasional typhoons? When i was there there was a typhoon signal 3, is this common / dangerous?

Buildings in HK are built to withstand typhoons - even the Tsing Yi Bridge which carries the MTR. The danger from typhoons usually comes from flying debris not from the actual typhoon, unless you are one of those people who like to go surfing at the height of a storm.

Typhoons are more of an inconvenience, except when you get a day off! When one is going to hit HK, the city closes down and everyone goes home, to a restaurant, to the cinema, or to a bar (some have special typhoon prices).

Oh and typhoons are BIG. It doesn't really matter whether you are close to the coast or not.

There are 3 lanes in Caribbean Coast ( I lived there before).
For the other estates, let me check and get back to you later.

    - Is Internet censored in Hong Kong, like in China? (thanks for the information on the prices).
    No, i dont think so.

    - Is there a non-stop shuttle bus to Central? If so, where can I find information on times and prices? (I read this somewhere, but forgot where).
If you are living in Caribbean Coast, they provide residential shuttle bus service in the morning and in the evening, for ppl to go to work.
If you are not living in Caribbean Coast, There is a bus E11 which has station near the MTR station, although it's not non-stop, it's only have around 6-7 stations then you will reach Central.

    - When going out late a night in Central or TST, what is the best way to get back to Tung Chung, are only taxis going? Or can you (for example) take the airport express (until how late) and then take a taxi to Tung Chung?
the Last Train is departed around 12:xxAM from Central, after that, you can take N11 bus in the mid-night, this bus departs from Causeway Bay, then Wanchai, then Central, then Sheung Wan, then reach Tung Chung.

    - Are there any bars in Tung Chung? When I was there I only saw the 'Aviator'. Other than the Citygate area, is there another area with shops / outlets / bars?
I remember there is a pub near Tung Chung Crescent, but if you want night life, I suggest you to go to Central, Lan Kwai Fong.

    - Are there any 'big' international banks with branches in Tung Chung, like HSBC, or Standard Chartered?
No, there is just ATM machinese there. The closest ones are in the Airport Terminal.

    hope this help~
