I've been house sitting for a friend in Sai Kung for 2 weeks. I came back last night, and I got down to the beach to look at the "storm damage" to the kayaks today.

My kayak is still there, but my carbon fiber paddle is gone.

There is a small chance that it has been blown away in the storm, but I don't think so. It's jammed tightly against the seat in the cockpit of my kayak. If the kayak didn't get blown off, there is very little chance that the paddle did.

I'll contact the LBC and some beach cleaning staff to see if they have seen anything. I will also file a police report. But I think more likely than not, it has been stolen.

If you have seen someone with a carbon fiber kayak paddle with "Nimbus Kiska" printed on it, please contact me. Nimbus is a small Canadian company from the town where I used to live (Kelowna), its products are not not sold in HK and it's not that popular worldwide, I doubt anybody else in HK is using one.
