    Good orthodontist in HK

Can anyone recommend a good female orthodontist with good english for my 13 year old. Price isn't such an issue as long as its not outrageous- the most important thing is that they're willing to LISTEN with a gentle touch as my daughter is very nervous. Went to a lady orthodontist in Princes Building- absolutely terrifying (i mean the orthodontist)- felt like we were both in the headmistress room, no smile, no clear explanation except that records need to be taken. Both of us couldn't get out the room fast enough. We also went to Dr Ma in Bailey and Jackson, but my daughter really prefers a female orthodontist.

I was going to suggest Dr Ma. We saw a couple of Drs and Dr Ma was the best. He's extremely patient and kind, and my 8 year old is happy to see him. We also saw a Dr in Causeway Bay which was like your headmistress. Very rough, no explanations, wouldn't even give you a breakdown of the costs, and you had to wait over an 1 hour at each appt.

Sorry I don't know of any female Drs

Did you find a good orthodontist ?

    Hi

We are also looking for a good ortho for our 12 year old. I have received recommendations for Dr. Ma and for Dr. Louise Wong. Can anyone recommend any other good ortho. It's good to have 3-4 options on hand and then meet them and choose the one we're most comfortable with.

The one I have is Dr. Ho, who is in the building next to Coach in Central on Queen's Road.

The one I go to is a Dr. Lisa L. Y. So. She speaks fluent english and a lot of people in my school (Hong Kong International School) go to her.

Gauri, I have not been to dr Louise Wong but she is the sister of my GP, Dr Lily Wong, who is excellent. They are English, born and bred in London. I have also been treated by Louise Wong's husband, dr Raymond Lee and he was very good indeed, to ok a lot of time to answer questions and was not trying to sell unnecessary treatments- I asked him if my teeth needed whitening and he said no!

    Dr. Louise Wong

Thanks, yáll - for the information. We've decided to go with Dr. Louise Wong. She seems genuinely nice and is warm and patient with kids. Most importantly, my daughter feels totally comfortable with her and yes, she takes the time to answer all your questions. Fingers crossed !! :-)
