    Its not longer used in the states, same as referring to those of African descent as Spooks. It kinda fell out of vogue I believe in favor of other terms of endearment.

    We use aircon 24/7 in the summer. No sore throat problems. You must be drying the air too much. Just use the cooling not the drying function.

    I used to get that even using cooling. Light cover(s) and set around 23/24 degrees so the unit is not blasting out freezing, dry air. Hope this helps.
