Out of curiosity, is Down Syndrome more common in HK?

You have to remember HK is an extremely compact city of 7 million people so just because you may see more people with Down Syndrome here while out on your travels does not mean it's more prevalent than anywhere else...

....but to answer your question, i have absolutely no idea

Or what? I would say more common than Godzilla but less common than pirates in Discovery Bay but that is just my opinion. Also couldn't be bothered to use Google...

I´m sure that there are now a few members here trying to find the statistics for world distribution of Down´s Syndrom

I wonder why you have this question - is it of pure interest about the condition and the health situation in HK ? in that case it would make more sense to look at mortality of people with DS

As for HK people with disabilities/handicaps etc - they are mostly kept away from public viewing....and what a shame. You don´t find happier, more kind hearted people than those with DS

I am happy to see a girl/woman with DS every day, passing out flyers on the way to MTR.
Ok, not the most exiting job in the world - and quite lonely too I would think.....but at least she is out in public, having a job as a regular huming being.

Indeed, generally those with DS seem to have a happy disposition and can live relatively normal lives. I also suspect that they are kept out of sight as you don't seem to see them here very often (compared to the UK for example).
