    Health/medical Insurance

    Hello,

Wondering if anyone could offer some help on the following query. I am a 24 y/o male, just moved to HK with finance job which starts at beginning of March.

My work have given me a couple of options regarding health/medical insurance but I find its always good to look around.

Things which may raise some issues are:

    - Currently no fixed address for the first month
    - I play rugby and am aware that this may be prohibited under some policies or increase premiums
    - Wondering if anywhere does joint insurance for health/medical and personal belongings, or would it be better to have two separate policies?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Will

    Hi Will

It has been one month now so I believe you have an address, which would make it much easier to apply for anything here.

Insurance companies would exclude any injuries / mishappens as a result of rugby playing. However, they won't increase your premium, and they would enrol you to the same policy as anyone else.

As far as I know, there are no insurance plans that cover health plus personal belongings, as they are quite different in nature. Have you found any suitable global health cover yet? If you want to take a look, A+ International, William Russell and Aetna International might be some good choices.

    Cheers

    Hi William

As an insurance agent myself, I'd like to share some information for your reference.

    1. Address
It shouldn't be an issue now since you have been here for more than 3 months now.

    2. Increased premiums for you
Only if you are a professional rugby player, you will have to pay more. Otherwise, there shouldn't be
restrictions unless you have pre-existing illness or something.

    3. There is no such plan, at least not with our company, for Health insurance and belongings. Most
people, including myself, buy home insurance which basically covers everything in your house
    including mobile phones.

Hope it helps. Have a great weekend!!
