The Hong Kong public health care system is EXCELLENT in many ways. However, one may still consider insurance for the following reasons:
- ]Long waiting times: if you are not prepared to wait, especially for relatively elective procedures like colonoscopies or knee replacements
- if you need transfer from another country
- if you want a particular doctor to treat you
- some expensive medications like some chemotherapy drugs or cardiac stents are not covered by HA
So you may still want to consider health insurance.
Hello frnds...i am from India; we are shifting to Hk in Jan2014. Already we booked a house for rent on hill road, hk. Its a nice house. Well i wanted to know whether its ok for me to carry medicines from india to Hk. We will be travelling with a work permit visa. So i wanted to carry our regular use medicines from here.
pls suggest wat quantity can i bring them , will they allow. Then how can i avail medicines in local. how is the system?
Also we saw a second hand fridge online and we sent msgs to the owner abt in on wats app; she has agreed to sell for $ 700, 1 year old refrigerator , brand, hisense, in warranty. So is it advisable to buy it. And how abt the transport from tiu keng leng to hill road, central, hk.
Pls suggest
just for regular day to day problems like headache, motions, indigestion, cold,
names: indian medicines: like d cold total, norelet, paracitamal, hipanc b, pudin hara etc....
where is hill road (building name?) and how much money did u pay for this house?
hill road , we are gng to pay $9800 per month , its near to tat school over there. 48-52 hill road i guess.
I really do not think you should pay money before you have seen the flat. There are a lot of internet scams where people advertise apartments that they do not own.
Ask your employer to help you find temporary accommodation when you arrive HK
