Do you think this flu epidemic is worse than SARS 2003?

The news are reporting that the medical authorities are telling the press not to panic:

    袁國勇稱須留意非高危者死亡率 - 有線寬頻 i-CABLE

As far as I can translate, a University of Hong Kong infectious disease specialist state that this flu season cannot be compared to SARS. The fatalities in this flu season are all predominantly in their 70's and 80's, the vast majority of them have pre-existing illness. Whereas for SARs, many of the deceased were otherwise healthy indidivuals in their 30's and 40's. Only 0.02% of the current flu fatalities are those without pre-existing illness. So in short, he is saying take proper precautions, but do not panic.

I see what happened with this thread.

Actually, I started a new thread in a different section of the forum with a certain title.

In the midst of posting, I noticed that my posts were moved by the admins to this thread.

Subsequently, they were moved back by the admins to the section they were originally in - and given another thread title.

I too think threesummer's posts add a much needed diversity of news. He/She is my official twitter curator and I mean this is in the nicest possible way.

jgl - I think as long as it is topical, might as well go with the flow. Can always use the ignore options if you want.

I think that has to do with the pollution and your weaker immune system that results from such pollution, rather than (or perhaps in addition to) the bugs.
