Itchy Mole - GP or Dermatologist?

Question Itchy Mole - GP or Dermatologist?

I've found an itchy mole on my arm and I'm a bit concerned it may be a sign of something more (i.e. melanoma).

    Yeah, kinda scary.

Since this is clearly a skin problem should I even bother looking for a general practitioner? Or maybe I should go directly to a dermatologist (to get a biopsy done) to save money?

And on that note, what places do you guys recommend?

    Thanks in advance

Are you going to claim on insurance? It usually requires a referral.

I think its hard to find a place to get it checked properly without a doctors referral. That;s the place to start. If you are worried and have no money, try A&E at a local hospital? Probably queue for ages but they have all the equipment once you get into the system.
