The major HA hospitals have ENT departments. Is your son eligible for public healthcare?

If you have insurance, the Hong Kong Adventist ENT and Cochlear Implant Center is supposed to be good. If no insurance, the consultation fee is $350-$1,500 a visit. Don't know about the procedure cost.

When i 1st saw the post, Im like hmmm is it an art or some sort of project for his kid to use a metal grommet but I think its actually to do with the ear.

See a GP, get a referral letter and go see the govt hospital specialist.

But how would you know you need it without first seeing a GP?

Thanks for replies. Sorry for confusion - British definition - for ears - myringotopy.

No private insurance but apparently gov waiting list is over a year and this is needed much quicker.

So any recommendations for good and affordable - or how to fast track gov?

    Thanks

Try looking at hospitals in Bangkok. Typically much cheaper than HK and the main ones are very good. I do all my dentistry in BKK these days and there was a poster on here a few years back who took her kids for various things as well and was very pleased.

The hospital authority does have a priority system - not too sure how it works, but critical cases can jump the queue.
@welshgenius - have you been to the govt doc / specialist appointment? Takes some time initially, but your GP / private specialist might be able to explain to you how the priority system (if it applies to this case) works.
