    Question

So I just called them today to ask. For things other than blood tests, you need to book in advance. At the moment, its full for two months. That is what I understood from the conversation.
And, does anyone know how you "prove" you work in Hong Kong? I have my HK ID, but is there anything else I need? Do I need to ask my employer for a letter or copy of contract?
Also, someone wrote that the govt health care are cheaper--- where is this? Ive nearly lost my mind trying to figure out where I can go, not because I want to "beat the system", but I literally, due to circumstances, cannot afford the insane 3 grand costs places like Quality Health are quoting me.

Just click through the link monomono posted in post #11 above.

However, if you need a treatment/ procedure that QH is quoting you $3k for, I suspect it's not something that the GP at the outpatient clinic can help you with, but it's also not critical either. In which case, they best they can offer is a referral to the relevant specialist clinic and then you have to wait (years) for your appointment.

To be fair, it is based on the condition. Regardless of the wait time, if you condition is chronic, get the GP referral and get yourself in the queue, while you seek private treatment.

They also have a very comprehensive offering of health screening packages. Refer to scans below.

This place is cheap. Not glamour.

Does anyone know how the disbanding of the trade union in question has affected the medical clinics? I tried to see on their website but got none the wiser.

FTU is a patriotic union. Not been disbanded.

My bad, sorry! - But good to hear because the clinics are indeed very affordable. I have used once, and I am not a union member; actually a westerner and no problem getting seen to.
