English speaking ENT doc in Quarry Bay/North Point

    Hi there

I've had a blocked ear for about two months. I can still hear but it feels full. I think I might need to get it syringed?
Does anyone know of an English speaking ENT specialist or something in Quarry Bay or North Point? It's a little hard to describe the problem - kind of like being underwater with occasional bursts of loud noise. Something might get lost in translation.

    Thanks!

If the doctor is allowed to practice in HK, he or she should understand English.
If his or her specialist qualification was obtained in HK or usually UK, Ireland and Australia, their ability to read and write medical english should be very good.

There should be prviate ENT doctors in that area. If you really can't find, call a private hospital which should have ENT docs.

I can recommend a very good ENT specialist with good English who has just performed this procedure on me. However, he is based in Central rather than East HK.

If you're interested his name is Dr Johnny Koo Tak Ching in Melbourne Plaza (tel: 2526 2262). Not sure about the fee as I have medical insurance, but it could be around $2k which in my case included an investigation of the nose, throat and sinus with an endoscopic camera.

    You're welcome.

Just so you know, ear wax removal is generally done by vacuum, but this doctor might also use the traditional 'syringing' method depending on the circumstances.

    Hope all goes well [emoji106].
