I wouldn't take the risk. China medical is so variable.

Bangkok or even Singapore is cheaper than HKG for implants. I had one from HK and need one in SG. Compared prices and SG is definitely cheaper.

Btw, here are the details of the dental surgeon I recommend,
Dr Philip S Y Wong, he’s a Specialist in Periodontolgy.
His clinic is at: Rm 1001-2, 8 Jordan Road.
    Clinic number: 2771 2020
You need to make an appointment at least a month in advance because he’s very full and sometimes attends Medical forums/talks in Europe.
BUT before you do, you need to ask yourself if you can commit to turning up to appointments on time and not changing them AND post-implant surgery check-ups every three months, otherwise he’ll have no qualms about lecturing you in front of his nurses or telling you to go find another dentist!

How good is Thailand's medical compared with China?

I know Thailand has a compulsory national health insurance system, healthcare is available cheaply under their system.
Nowadays China is richer than Thailand, cost of living and healthcare are probably more expensive than Thailand.

Thailand has a medical export industry which caters to foreigners. China does not.

    Is the market big enough?

Unlike Mexico or Shenzhen Zhuhai right next to HK Macau, Malaysia next to Singapore.

Thailand is far from all western countries.

Been living for five years in Thailand before coming to HK. I concur with the other posters about the quality of dental care in Thailand. Nevertheless, while some clinics quote 60,000 HKD for one implant, some doctors can do it for around 20,000 HKD here.

This being said, high quality also comes roughly at the same price in Thailand. Thonglor dental clinic habitually bills 75,000 THB for one implant. Where there might be a difference in Thailand is rather in the pricing. Thonglor etc might be very expensive for dental care (especially Samitivej hospital or the clinics near Samitivej).
