Root Canal Treatment Dr recommendation in 2018?

    Hi all,

I've been searching around for a Doctor recommendation for a root canal treatment but have only managed to find very old threads with mix opinions.

Has anyone done this kind of treatment before and has any recommendation? I broke a pre-molar teeth and so far both doctors I've been to indicated that I will need to do this treatment. I got one quote for 7,000 HKD in Sai Ying Pun and another one for 9,600 HKD in Sai Wan Ho.

Are this prices normal? It's definitely in the expensive side for me (insurance doesn't cover anything), but I'm more concerned about making sure I get the proper job done since it will be for a lifetime.

    Thank you in advance!

I have had root canal therapy for a few teeth done by a dentist here. Dr Daneil Fung 27716323. A very good job done a few years ago. He also has a specialist there "dontist-something' (sorry!) but I insisted he do it and it worked out well and a lot cheaper. Its the crowns that are expensive.

Like you I'm uninsured for this type of thing. I suppose it depends how complicated it is altho from what you say it sounds on the simpler side but then I'm just a humble layperson!! His work has stood the test of time, he speaks excellent English which was a big help to me.
