    Any recommendations for a psychiatrist

    Hi!

Can anyone recommend a psychiatrist specializing in ADHD?

What was the patient's experience? What kind of charges can one expect?

This is the first time a young adult will be seeing a psychiatrist so not really sure what to expect.

Thanks a lot for your help!

My niece suffers from depression and anxiety and has been seeing this psychiatrist. But before I recommend him to you, what is your budget to see a private doctor?

Saw a psychiatrist a few years ago but the Dr dismissed the patient’s complaints. If I remember correctly, his charge was $1500 per visit.

    We found relevant treatment overseas.

One can find drs online but I believe a recommendation based on personal experience would help.

    Thanks!

Sorry don't have a recommendation but my suggestion would be to go to a place that specializes in ADD/ADHD (can sometimes be a psychologist or education specialist) and, if there needs to be medication, they usually have an arrangement with a psychiatrist to deal with that aspect. More important to have an ADD specialist than a psychiatrist for the diagnosis I think. Like people seeing a psychologist for depression who works with an MD on the medication side of things.

    Good luck!

Thank you all for the suggestions made so far. Since this will be the first visit to a psychiatrist we have no documentation on hand. This young person wishes to seek professional advice as soon as possible which is not possible if using public healthcare.
I was very touched by the private message of a kind person. I agree there are many drs but not all are helpful. It’s the reason I seek advice based on personal experience.
Thank you all! My search contknues

Mindpro helped us for our then teenager. Around $2-3000 each appt. (incl medicine)talked for about 1 1/2 hours each appt very thorough. Doctor was female that’s all I can remember but I was able to book an appointment immediately which was very helpful. A bit of a problem with teenagers these days is they don’t “turn off” so their brain keeps working overtime. Good luck

I can wholeheartedly recommend the “golden duo” dr. Scarlett Mattoli (psychotherapist) and dr. Vanessa Wong (psychiatrist) at the Psynamo Group. (www.psynamo.com) Both have vast experience working with adhd kids, teenagers & adolescents plus adults. First consultation with dr. Wong is app. HKD 2500 and HKD 1500 for subsequent consultations I believe. Both incredibly skilled and empathetic ladies, always excellent feedback from my friends as well.

Dr. Jemima Wong, 800hkd first consultation and 500 follow up sessions + medication. She is kind, understanding, takes her time to explain the nature of the diagnosis and prognosis. Phone number is 25711336.
