Most of the hospitals and a few clinics have packages that go from covering the basics (and then going to further tests if there are markups) or the whole deal at what might be eye watering costs.

Raffles, Adventist, Canossa, Matilda, Sanitarium etc come to mind.

    e.g.

In the good old days people took a long weekend off and went to Bangkok (Bumrungrad or Bangkok Hospital come to mind) for their checkups.

Do you have a regular and reliable GP? Might want to start with them giving you a list of things you need to get checked for (age and risk appropriate?)....

Forgot about that! In the good old days, if Bangkok was not an option or too pricey, a basic "DIY" (i.e. not initiated by a doctor) test could be done using Groupon.

My wife and I have both used Adventist and the only minor complaint (other than the price) is that some men specific health issues have to be booked as a completely separate package.

In pre-covid times we've also done the medical tourism thing down in Bangkok.

I had an el-cheapo one done at Medifast- just some x-rays, EKG, Urinalysis, bloodwork, a few other things, 900 HKD. They have lots of packages from el-cheapo to more expensive.

I went to the one in Causeway Bay, think they also have one in Central.

Compared to what I would pay in the US, an absolute bargain- also fast, maybe in and out in 1.5 hours, report a couple of weeks later.

Does that mean you can claim it through your company medical insurance?? If so best to check if a referral letter or so is needed or not or even see if they have any recommendation for medical check up packages.

Best to find one that bills the company directly then, avoiding misunderstandings...

agree with the above. if cost is no issue, from a 'comfort' perspective you might consider Matilda or Sanatorium. They're the most $ and they cater for the spoilt rich crowd. From an 'experience' perspective they're generally at the top (stuff important to Locals, like having yummy food - the hainan chicken rice at Sanatorium is famous, as is the clay pot rice and sweet and sour pork at Matilda) and at these places you walk less between diagnostic tests. Whereas at a place like St Pauls (which is 30% cheaper) you walk around more for the different tests.

otherwise worth checking with each hospital/clinic as to credit card-related offers. I've booked at Gleneagles and get some discount cos of AMEX (though they also have a package for HSBC card holders). I called last week and the first slot at Gleneagles i could book was for early october....

Canossa also good but a bit of a faff if you dont live in the mid levels.
