Almost daily, rarely white rice. Partial to a Nasi Goreng or Yung Chow Fried Rice.
We eat it probably an average of 2-3 times per week, however only brown rice.
White rice high glycemic and mostly empty calories. You can do better. But yes, very cheap calories and yes, better than white flour processed into bread.
Brown whole meal bread and brown rice superior in nutrition to the white varieties.

After moved to Hong Kong been having more warm meals at breakfast and lunch times, and have more rice, pasta, quinoa, lentils, beans over bread. I train 3-4x a week. Back in the day I wasn’t much into sports.
Maybe I’m aging but warm food feels definitely better on the stomach. I have also cut down on dairy!
Usually 1-2 times a day (lunch and dinner), occasionally breakfast as well (Japanese style).
