Trying to get a second opinion on a dental issue - just want to make sure my current dentist is on the right track.
Has anyone been to PPDH for a consult or dental surgery under their private patient program?

It has a great reputation with some 'experts' there, but who you get to see is a bit 'random' and there's often no continuity - particularly with the 'big emigration trend..
Edit: your chances of continuity are better with 'private care', but still not guaranteed...
- thanks. That is the impression I got in terms of continuity and forgot about the added complication of the emigration wave. Plus the whole getting an appointment ritual...
PPDH private programme is good but expensive. It is also a bit their way and no other way which doesn't always suit the needs of patients.
Every year the HK School of Dentistry is rated in the top 3 globally. Public or private, you're likely to do well.
The global ratings for dentals schools are a load of nonsense. It seems largely based on the amount of funding for and the number of research papers that the school puts out. The quality of the exiting dentists at the end of the course is of minor consequence.
That aside, generally the quality of dentistry in Hong Kong is very good although I believe there is a large amount of over treatment that goes on (probably the same in most countries). We are also fortunate that there are a large number of dental specialists in Hong Kong
