Doctor to diagnose CFS/ME - chronic fatigue

Does anyone know any doctors in HK familiar with CFS/ME? Unfortunately, I have all the symptoms and reason to believe that I am clinically diagnosable as someone with the disorder. I have a family member with CFS so I know the treatment best practices. At this point, I'm mostly interested in finding someone open and qualified to issuing a CFS diagnosis. Having a dignosis would help me deal with setting up accommodations at work. I've read that many HK practitioners are loathe to diagnose CFS and instead diagnose a depressive or anxiety disorder. I am neither depressed nor anxious. I just have chronic fatigue, pain, etc. that arose after a long viral infection.

The features and symptoms are vague and non-specific, there’s no diagnostic test no treatment no obvious pathological or radiological features and many consider it is psychological or that it doesn’t even exist. That’s why it’s hard to find someone who will diagnose it.

Look, I knew I’d get the unhelpful quips with the question but now that we’ve got a few out of the way can forum users just skip this thread or contribute some actually useful advice? I don’t need anyone to pay me anything to sit on my arse. I can afford to do that on my own.

In the meantime, my symptoms are a precise fit within the NIH’s definition of ME/CFS (https://www.nih.gov/mecfs/about-)

I wish I didn’t have them, but I do. I was once extremely healthy and now I can barely lift 10 pounds. I don’t really need the quippery. I just need a doctor who is up to date on ME/CFS standards accepted in most developed countries. Finding one will help me navigate accommodations so I can avoid having to sit on my arse at home. Thanks!

Yes, I understand that. This is why I’m asking for advice from strangers in the hope that someone will have HK experience with a local doctor who could help. I’d like to find a physician here who uses something like the US CDC’s diagnostic criteria, as my symptoms and background fit within those criteria.

Try a neurologist, maybe someone trained abroad who might have had more exposure to CFS symptoms

Yes, thanks for googling on my behalf. Unsurprisingly, I tried that before posting here. I've contacted them and they said they haven't encountered ME/CFS and could only offer a general consult. I think their blog is basically search engine optimization.

    Who did you speak to?

Dr Tim Trodd is the one whom you should consult.

I assume I was communicating with their administrative staff. I'll dig further into Dr. Trodd. Thanks!

I fit those criteria. It's called "getting old"!
