Question Health check for Taiwan visa

    Hey everyone,

Does anyone know where I can get a health check for a Taiwan visa?
I have a specific medical form with a list of required tests that need to be done.
So far, the clinics I've contacted don’t perform some of the tests, eg Hansen's Disease.
Unfortunately, I need to complete all of them.

    Contacted:
    - healthgene
    - medifast
    - qhms

Waiting for a reply from London clinic and St. Paul hospital.

Here are the tests I need:

    Chest X-ray for Tuberculosis
    Stool Examination for Parasites
    Serological Tests for Syphilis
Proof of Positive Measles and RubellaAntibody or Measles and Rubella Vaccination: Antibody tests
    Skin examination for Hansen's Disease

    Thanks for any help!

Will you go to Taiwan on a visitor's visa? Because I know these weird tests for residence visa are done at a lot of the local hospitals (I was waiting to see a family doctor and a bunch of people from different countries were there to get the tests).

I mean, I know it's expensive to just pop over there for a visa visit if that's the only reason you are going...but if you are going over to do some other thing (looking for a flat, whatever) you can perhaps get it done there? Even if you are not on their medical, they are not expensive.

Oh, the thing is I'm applying for a resident / join family type visa, so local Taiwan mission asks for that health check, (even notarized) made here

Good grief...well, the hoops I had to jump through to import two cats from HK to Taiwan were very painful so...

Since my passport is US, didn't need any physical, so, yeah, definitely different rules for different passports although, given the unhealthiness of the average American these days, Taiwan might want to rethink their rules...

Yes, it is, but, to be fair, they are very nice about it and will also answer questions by email and such so you just get through it. Only THREE LABS were acceptable for my rabies titer on the cats so I shipped the blood draws to...SCOTLAND...during the height of covid when all the air freight was weird.

Yes, I DO feel your pain. And my one cat lost 1/3 of her body weight during her one-week quarantine. And I was STILL in quarantine, had to get someone ELSE to take her to the vet.

But, yeah, you will get through it...the REAL test for leprosy if there is an actual issue is a skin biopsy so...sigh.

That sounds tough! Shipping blood to Scotland is wild! I can only imagine how stressful it was, especially watching your cat lose weight plus Covid

Thanks for support, fingers crossed. The worst (like trips to 3 different countries just to verify some documents) is hopefully behind now x)
