    vaccinations

Hi Moving to DB in 3 weeks, have 2 children 13 and 9, have not been able to get any info in uk about vaccinations required, doctors vague and useless. Have suggested I go to surgery on 26th for discussion and poss jabs but as we fly on 28th dont think its worth it. Can anyone advise what we should have, planning to be long term residents in HK.

Also could we get all jabs/tablets needed as soon as we arrive??

    thanks

    Biggo

The only jab that you might want for general living in HK that you might not have for the UK is Hepatitis B, which is endemic here.

Of course any vaccinations deemed necessary are available here - Hong Kong is one of the most over-medicated territories in the world.

When I first visited (1995), typhoid was recommended, so I had it at the time. I didn't bother though when I moved here permanently in 2006. It may not be necessary anymore? You may want a tetanus booster.

I would get the jabs done in the UK on the NHS. It will cost a pretty packet here for your whole family.
