Question Travel to US with kids..

Hi! I have a trip planned to US, 2 weeks from now, both to the East & West coast. I will be traveling with my 2 kids -7 & 3 yo. Do you think with the swine flu going on ..is it a good idea? Or am I just being paranoid. I will be there for 2 weeks.
Has anyone returned from there recently or has similar experiences?

    Paranoid.
But don't come back with any type of infecetion becuase you will likely be quarantined.
This virus isn't going away anytime soon, so you would be postponing the trip for a long time.

Be aware that if you are the sole parent travelling with the kids then you should have a notarised formal statement from the other parent authorising you to travel internationally with them.

    See: US CBP FAQ

How do you dig this stuff up?

Surely I'm not the only one wondering.

I'm old and I've experienced many things in life...

(And I'm quite good at using this internet thingy)

Personally I would rate the advice of the US CBP (who have absolute discretion at the border regarding whether or not non-US Citizens are admitted) above the experience of your mother. But others may disagree.

And if your mother and sister are US Citizens then the case is quite different - they have an absolute right of entry to the US.

How unbelievable that you would even consider one parent travelling with their child/children could be an issue. What a crazy world.

Given that several hundred children are abducted internationally each year by one parent against the wishes of the other then the attitude of the US CBP seems not unreasonable to me.
