Type 1 diabetes and public health system

I've been in HK nearly a year and so far have been surviving on diabetes supplies from home when I've been back to the UK. I now need to get prescriptions and treatment in HK but don't have a lot of money. I've been reading a lot about the private options that people have recommended but does anyone use the public health system for their diabetes care? If so what is your experience? If I just need a prescription filled what's the best way to go?

Also does anyone know if you can buy glucogel in Hong Kong?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

    thanks

    Public Hospital

If you need some prescription filled, most Pharmacies will oblige.
However if you need prescription, you can visit any private doctor.

It is in your interest to get regular monitoring .Waiting list for Public Hospital is long. You need a refrence letter from a private doctor.
But once you are in the system, your will be monitored every 3-4 months.Complete blood work.
Cost about $60 for consultation plus medicines about $20/
