G.P & Bloods??

Hiya,
I have just discovered that my bupa cover will not cover gp visits, so I want to ask, how do I find a good gp & I need to get some bloods done? I called into one place this am, but they were charging from 120hkd - 380hkd per blood test! Is this the norm here? I have heard of gp's that are just 30hkd - is this correct(is that the public system? - I don't mind public/private, I just want some bloods done!)?? Cheers.

If you get into the public system then blood tests recommended by a specialist are, as I understand it from a friend who is going through this process currently, free of charge. But you need to have a bit of time to get through the outpatient clinic system, to the specialist before you get to that point.

HK$120-380 per blood test done privately doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Or you can get various levels of health checks which include a selection of blood tests for various prices from HK$2000 upwards.
