Webs based email with your own domain name

    Dear all

I am setting up an ebay business selling items to the US and UK. To keep costs down yet create the image of a legit business I want to get an email address where I can choose my own domain name. I'm quite happy to pay for this down the track but initially want something very cheap or free. I came across this one from AOL:

    http://free.aol.com/thenewaol/domain_email.adp

Looks to work great except you need to be in the US. They send you an SMS to your US phone with a code that you use to unlock the account.

Is anyone aware of any similar services that are available in HK or not limited to people only in the US?

    Thanks

Try Google Apps for your domain:

Why don't you just register your domain name and foward your domain email address to your personal email address?

Thanks all. I set up a domain with godaddy. They seem to get good reviews but their purchase process is a bit of nightmare - they continually try to sell you add ons every step of the way

KIA thanks for the plug, (GroupMail is the one you should have plugged for this customer). :-D

Most guys like Excited41 don't ever sign up right off the bat. First the tend to sign up for other companies. They go for the big brand, or lowest price, big mail box, the glossy brouchure or what ever. (Our price/web site is not that sexy) The vast majority of these providers tend to go down, lose email, blow away mail boxes etc as they please etc.. for most people or new business this is not important as the value of an email is Zero hence not critical.

When people get pissed off and their email loss is costing the money tends to be the point at which they find us normally through word of mouth. About 70% of our customers are "rescue" jobs, guys that are losing orders / email and are desperate to move, guys that their web hosting company has been black listed or has routing problems or have lost all their mail... Anyway we pick them up, sometimes even migrate them in 30 minutes (root DNS servers update fast now adays). After they join they stay, we have retain 95% of all companies that have joined us since 2000.
