    Computer Freezes at 12:20am

    Hey all,

My computer has frozen every single night for almost a week now right at 12:30am. I think it may have been 12:28 or 12:29 once as well but it is happening every night. I have not changed anything recently and I had a similar problem I never paid much attention to with my home computer freezing at 2:07am.

Anyone have any idea what is happning or what to do to fix this? The computer doesn't really come to a full stop but it runs at a REALLY slow speed to the point I just need to force shut it down as it would take 15 minutes + to get to shut down I suspect.

Comp is Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows XP Pro.

Do you have a virus or spyware checker scheduled to run at this time?

    Anything in the event logs?

Nothing I can find. I am going to run a bunch of clean up systems and see if that helps at all.

Yeah it sounds like some kind of spyware. Try Adaware and AVG for starts. That's pretty spooky...lol

Task Manager should show what is eating up the cpu cycles. Most likely is a scheduled anti-virus scan.
