Absolutely no problem recording the output from a NOW decoder onto either a VHS video recorder or DVD vr. The output is composite left/right/video (white/red/yellow) and suits all.
And as kiwi_bc says your DVR's ability to record tv signals depends on its built-in tuner - check its manual for PAL-I compatibility.

Are these products compatible with Now TV? We have Tivo service now. What would be the HK equivalent? Finally, voltage considerations aside, would any DVR (like our current Toshiba) be compatible in HK?

    where's your DVR from?
One limiting factor would be the tuner input signal.
HK uses PAL system for encoding the picture signal whereas the USA uses NTSC and some countries use SECAM.
Also there may be multiple sound signals each. eg HK and NZ have PAL but their sound signals are different. This may not be as much a problem as the picture signal as most tuners may be able to cope.

Another one may be plugs but you can work around that one.

    Hope that helps

We're from the US so our set uses NTSC. However, I learned on these forums that the NTSC vs PAL issue is made moot with Now TV. I assume this holds true for DVRs as well?

Regarding the DVR, many people on these forums seem to refer to it as DVDR which is actually different. I'm more interested in a Tivo-like device that allows you to pause and replay live programming. Is this possible with Now TV? Are HK DVRs compatible with programming guides for Now TV?

We don't have the luxury of Tivo here. Your DVR will have no signals to pick up from the broadcasters other than the programs.
