Question Outsourcing QA testing of web application

We'll be rolling out a web application (a niche job site) soon and need to get it tested. We were thinking of outsourcing the QA testing part to some freelancers or a company in China.

This is my first time rolling out a new app (I am a non-techie). Is this feasible? Any suggestions or advice? How much should I be looking to pay for something like this? Any recommendations?

Your help will be much appreciated!

Points to think about .. (at random.... I'm in a bit of a rush)

Do you have a test plan or technical spec as to what the software / website is expected to do?

    Inputs .. outputs ..
    Add to that :
    Typos...
    Broken links...

Then factor in the risk of those bugs affecting parts of the site v/s cost of fixing and potential delays

Will stress testing be a part of the QA (can it handle xxx number of requests per minute / second etc).

Best to get someone technical to project manage this...

Without a tech spec, it is difficult to write the test spec / user acceptance document ..

Thanks very much for the advice KIA. I know very little about the test plan etc etc.

I imagine we have to get a pretty experienced QA guy to handle and take charge of this.

Would you or anyone else know of a company or freelancers that can do this?
