    Computer repair store

My laptop needs to get the CD Rom drive and the internal wireless fixed. Does anyone know of a good place I can get this done that won't charge too much. It is a older laptop so it is not worth putting a lot into, but I can't afford to buy a new one quite yet. Thanks =)

There are a couple of repair places in Wanchai Computer Center (1st floor ... take a right at the escalator and all the way to the end) that do laptops.

I'd speculate it might be easier to get a new external / USB wifi card than get an onboard issue fixed.

Problem is that the usb key wifi dongles are most likely usb 2.0 and the OP's may not support that. But it is true that paying more than HKD500 for repair may be a mistake when new Celeron notebooks cost around HKD4xxx.

2833-6279 - the phone of Chun Tat Digital Techn. in Computer 298. He replaced a "dud" DVDreader [the CDROM reader was okay] in an IBM R40 for me.

He has had a "sort out" of his shop, so maybe can no longer do it "on the spot"..... but for all that, he's a very useful tech. [Name of Ming Wong].
