    xbox 360 Premium with HDMI

In the US and elsewhere the Premium can be found with HDMI, but here in HK (last time I checked in Wanchai 188) only the Elite has HDMI.

Has anybody spotted or found where I might be able to find a Premium with HDMI? I basically don't want to pay the extra $800 for a bigger HDD.

    Thanks!

We sold our Xbox 360 Premium edition and my husband bought the Elite.

    Here is what he says:

Elite has 120 G as compared to 20G (in Premium)
Elite has HDMI which delivers up to 1080P resolution where as Premium with component video can only output to a maximum of 1080i .
Of course, you can use a VGA cable on a premium system to also get the 1080P, but most HDTV does not have VGA input.
For DVD movie playing, a HDMI will upscale a movie from 480P to 1080P if your TV has that.
With a component on Premium, will not upscale DVD movie and would stay at 480P resolutions.
Elite DVD drive is actually a lite -on drive where as Premium has either the toshiba, or hitachi DVD.
Hitachi DVD is the oldest installed in Xbox 360, and the noisiest, sounds like a blender.
Toshiba is better, but still noisy.

If you want to know which one your machine is, you can contact me pm.

Elite has an added heat-sink to the GPU. ( Graphic processing unit) Has a much cooler temperature than the oldest Premium, which is the majority of the problem resulting 3 rings of death.

The list goes on.... Anways, he bought his machine for $ 3580.00 plus the extra black controller (as we had 2 controllers before, but sold them with the old machine).

ALL three systems including Core, Premium and Elite are now still using the 90 nn chip. There is a new chip of 65 nn chip codename falcon. It will be installed in the upcoming new systems.

This chip will enable a much cooler and quieter system. No performance difference.

You've made this exact same post many times, and each time, you are wrong.

mzero just look at the box to see if it has HDMI out. If it does, it will say so on the box:

Don't waste your money on the Elite. All you get for that $800 is a bigger hard drive you don't need, and black plastic.

    XBOX 360 Premium

Hey guys, I found this Directbuy.com website selling Xbox 360 Premium for HK$2880. It includes a HD AV cable, does it mean its HDMI????

    http://directbuyhk.com/product_html/...ml#description

    [Sorry its in Chinese]

Seems like Elite is completely sold out in the whole of HK, and this shop assistant told us something about old chip/technology, and we should wait until newer models come out???

It's more likely they're referring to a component cable which can also carry a high-def picture. This connects to the red/green/blue jacks on the HDTV. (composite is the single yellow jack for standard def) Component carries only video. Audio is routed through its own seperate cable.

IMO, if it had HDMI, it'd be advertised in screaming bold letters.

My guess is it will still be a while until the glut of non-HDMI XBox360s in HK clear out before you'll see the new ones.

Sites like Engadget have reported that the (non Elite) ones sold in the states have lately been sporting an HDMI jack and use the smaller (less heat) 65nm CPU.

HDMI cores/Premiums are available in HK.

Elite can be modded with Iextreme but MS will ban device IDs again at the next update. I am told by sourses at MS that Gamertag bans will also be considered this time round.

Games are cheap in HK @299 so stick with the legit stuff.
