    Favourite (most useful) HK Apps?

Just wondering what everyone's favourite / most useful apps (in English) for life in Hong Kong are?

To get the ball rolling I'll give you mine:

    - HONG KONG TAXI APP (red logo) Absolutely brilliant, translates all English street, building, landmark etc. names into Cantonese, shows the point on a map, gives phonetic pronunciations and creates a cantonese card to show cabbies.

    - HKe TRANSPORT - The app that lets puts all the bus companies, green mini vans and trains together and easily gives me all my options to plan my route.

    - HONG KONG MOVIE (Has a "6" in the logo). All major (and minor) HK cinemas in one place with up to the minute movie listings and seat availability.

Pleco - with the camera Chinese character recognition addon. Even though I'm ethnically Chinese and fluent in spoken Cantonese, I can't read or write Chinese, so this app is invaluable to me when I go to the more dingy eateries with no English menu.

    dossier and bryant.english like this.

The movie app is great. It's nice to be able to search across multiple theaters in one swoop.

I was actually going to write a taxi app like that. Oh well. Guess it's been done.

Also agree about Pleco, or as I call it, the menu translation app. Helpful for quick translations here and there and the Optical Character Recognition is pretty cool to show off to people.

My air pollution app should come out next week (I submitted it this morning). Might be useful to some.

Openrice - mostly when my missus is there to read the Chinese reviews as I find those less 'skewed' than English ones, I mean there would be. Chinese place that obviously caters for Chinese, but some geezer would bitch moan about the weird food he had.

For viewing properties online I use Property King.

For navigation/street finding I various ones: Google Maps, Ndrive and M8 pro.

    I can suggest a few,

Henry tang news and cellar cam app would be useful.

Maybe a mainland locusts cam app showing the number of msinlands coming across the border would be good. A population ticker would be good.

The latter would be useful for starting a riot!

Actually you get it the other way too when locals eat at a place that does real western food and bitch and moan because it's not like "local" western food.
