    Almost the same time last year it happened to undersea cables on the Pacific side. What's it about winter?

    Yes, allegedly, it was a fishing boat one year and an earthquake the next...

    ...The mainland chaps are probably busy thinking up another plausible reason to cause the next Asian "outage".

    Well I know Cairo came back in less than a day, so not really that bad.

    Funny that the biggest spendy nations don't have redundant connections though: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait.
