Does anyone know a place that sells old cameras? Cameras like Canon AE-1 or Lubitel. Also a place to buy nice Polaroid cameras?

There are many, many 2nd hand cam stores. Biggest grouping is in TST, Kimberley Rd./Carnarvon Road with about 10 shops in one building.
Very good reading material:

btw, Canon AE will be dirt cheap. Even the high end ones like Canon F1n you can get for HK$1000 or so.
This is a better link:

Polaroid had a big revival. Fujifilm makes cameras and many places in HK sell film for it.Original Post Deleted

Film in general is far from dead. There are plenty of film labs still around.

I know zilch about photography but do film cameras produce better pictures then high res digital cameras?
A very good link, though be warned that the higher end collectable bodies in anything approaching decent condition are still going for multiple thousands in the TST stores. So far I am finding that ordering from the US will be pretty much on part with the HK prices I've seen for many things, even with shipping included.
It's definitely fun though, being able to see the equipment in person.
In terms of resolution, good DSLR bodies surpassed film about a decade ago. Back then the guy behind the website Luminous Landscapes did a convincing writeup comparing the effective res of film (which has grain) vs a Canon sensor and had very large size comparison prints sitting out in his gallery in (Boston?) to demonstrate this.
People stick to, or return to film for a number of reasons. Perhaps they like mechanical bodies and optics (which feel far nicer to handle than more recent equipment), or they like fiddling around with processing and cross processing. Or they are hipsters (usually very easy to identify as they will be carrying Lomo cameras and shooting without spending any time composing).
