    Should I caveat that post, how about you can' t send electronics that have lithium batteries in them through the normal post, which 99.99 % of electronics have and removing them is a pain in the arse for you and the person you are sending them to.

    most electronics including laptops, mobiles, portable video game machines, mp3 players, gps devices have removeable batteries, in eu are trying to implement directive for all portable devices to have removeable batteries

    does your nice desirable kettle have removeable 'sounds so lovely' heating element?
