Driverless cars - coming closer day by day

Sensor equipped cars == LOTS of data for Google

Think, realtime streetview photos, realtime mapping information updates, realtime local weather information (temperature, UV, humidity etc) ... for fans of really big data, it's very exciting

Still waiting for uniform detection, so it moves off to circle the block when Traffic Wardens are detected.

I'm stoked that driverless cars are getting closer to reality. While we may still be years away from wide-spread practical real life usage, it's still exciting to see real progress being made!

Yeah! Lets focus only on the negative aspects of this development Nevermind the countless thousands of lives which will be saved from car accidents caused by driver error!

Don't know why, but bookblogger is getting all so argumentative lately. He could stare and argue with the wall in his own house for all I know.

As for this technology-replacing-human-employment argument, its nothing new. And you are right, its been proven wrong on many accounts. There will be new jobs created for the old ones that are lost. So there is a net benefit as a whole to society.

And it's nothing to do with more surveillance? You are so naive.

Well...look at who is being so argumentative now.

Surveillance? Haha, are you so naive to think that governments can't spy on you with current technology? Are you suggesting we go back to the days before mobile phones and laptops? There will always be new technology. You can't stop it. Get with the flow, know what I mean?
