proves how decent cs from chinese companies, i know that other phone companies will flash a new or complete firmware if you have problems for a small charge, as long it's not a grey import

that's the risk buying high tech product from chinese companies

I was going to suggest you use a simple to install mod like cyanogen, turns out there is none, probably the phone is new. I strongly suggest you
    1. root the phone by yourself if you can
    2. use the phone as if you will lose it one day (i.e. all data backed up, all phonebook stored online etc)
    3. once someone comes out with a newlly rooted rom, flash it

I root all my phones once I buy them. Have not bricked any but my friend has (turns out samsung sold phones with faulty EEprom with 1st gen note2)

you could flash it back to the old factory rom and never update again

ok so i should still root the phone by following the instructions in the earlier posts..??

i ask because you said there is no newly rooted rom...

    OR

are you saying i should not root it but flash it instead and use the droidcn link?

    PLEASE clarify...confused again!

    get a specialist

whatsapp this contact who roots for other people, based on this account, 300 messages and request for rooting, probably even downgrade your firmware and re-install your apps

whatsapp 65778818 or call him if you can speak cantonese

you probably have to pay from HK$100 - 250 depends on complexity of the job, but considering you're very UN-tech savvy, you have no choice

it would be nice to see if you get the results which you want

I've never rooted my phone, owning a Mac makes it even more difficult.

I've heard of Chinese versions of the software without any of the Google stuff on. Can't one just use something like Cool market and download the Google content?

Sent from my GT-N7105 using GeoClicks mobile app

sorry about the confusion. Let start simple. I don't think you need to root your phone (yet).

Try and see if you can install the google play store by downloading the app yourself
I'll PM you a link with APK, download the store, open the apk file and see if the google store work. My guess is it won't because google ties all the login etc into the OS but no harm trying

Also bear in mind running external APK you run a risk of getting virus etc. its your call whether you trust me enough to take the risk or if the website I downloaded from is trustable.
I downloaded the APK from here

you are talking to a non tech savvy female geoexpater, she won't understand this type of technical advice, that's why I recommend her a specialist to sort out this issue

    No. it is not

I was stated that she didn't understand tech based jargon simple as that

but I recall that when this female geoexpater asked for recommendations of phones a few months, she highlighted to use that she was not very tech savvy, thus, could not understand tech based jargon, even though I forward a straight-forward guide for recommendations of phones

she stated that looking at this simple guide, her mind boogles, so how the heck you expect to understand of concept of rooting a phone which most people will struggle themselves

she also didn't understand a router issue and coverage few days ago, she wants to expand the coverage for wifi within her house.
