    Electronic child distance alarms

Ok, my daughter is starting to walk and fast learning to run away from my missus when shopping. Yes, I know you should always have one eye on the toddler at all times, but in practice, we are all human and can forget momentarily.

My question is where in Hong Kong can I get a portable alarm when the sensor attached to my daughter is outside 4 feet from one of us carrying the sensor detector.

For avoidance of doubt, I don't need any other comments about anything else other than where I can get this electronic leash. If you feel you can't limit any responses to my question, I thank you in advance for not commenting at all.

    Cheers all

Not sure, but this place might be worth a try - it's one of the largest stores in HK that has baby/child-related items.

I looked into this form of tech about a year ago, and everything on the market seemed to be either incredibly unreliable, or only available for use in Western countries (tied into cell phone networks), or both.

A lot of these devices sound good on the net, but when you read user reviews they appear much less reliable.

If you find anything that actually works, please update this thread.

Yeah, ok will do. But I'm not after a GPS or sim card thing, just the basic alarm when something moves away from you - there was something similar for mobile phones 7 years ago in my clubbing lifetime, so I expect the tech has evolved a lot since then and this (my daughter) is infinitely more important!

Perhaps you could get her to draw some flowers in chalk on a wall and the government will fit one for free

Ray, when you do find a good one let me know also, my daughter 15months old is also trying to do runner from us when we go to shopping malls, she just loves to raise her arms and try to leg it. great fun to watch but dangerous as well.

its just an added precaution, who doesnt want their own children to be safe so whats up with all the harassing of ray. I'm a 1st time parent learning about parenting as the kid gets older, lots of new experiences, lots of HSE stuff to do around the house to make it kid friendly, was even thinking of buying a kids helmet to prevent her banging her head when she falls or walks into walls. Is that wrong also.
