The gap between them and candidates from recent history is about as big as between current candidates and txt spkrs.
Quiet amazing when you look back at history, and see how far the USA has eroded away, a mere shadow of its great nation self. They sure don't produce political leaders like JFK , anymore.( JFK & Abe Lincoln being my faves).

Although, Bill Clinton certainly had some JFK qualities, public speaking articulation being one, and he certainly had, the best international lines of communication in recent history. Something that the Bush administration has completely FUBAR..

Back to the topic at hand

I wonder how L33T speaking Gen Y's enjoy the first 3 months of basic training in the defence forces lol, I bet they don't L33t speak after that . Not unless they want to do kit muster on a daily basis or be put on chooks detail, until they toe the precise communication line...

Good to see that Leet speak is banned from things like the emergency services, defence forces, all ATC's and professional medical/legal /scientific/ engineering career's...

Gen X ( my gen ) had its own street lingo, as did previous generations, but they managed to separate the use of, while working professionally, but it seems that Gen Y doesn't "care", it's rife in Australia, I assume it's like this globally too...

My suggestion is, if you catch an internal company email/memo that uses L33T speak, make no hesitation by submitting a NCR on the staff member that authored the memo, with a please explain to HR. As it really reflects badly on the company image, because chances are, they are communicating outside of the company in the same manner... Which isn't acceptable.
