    laptop hardrives

this week the disk in my old Dell Inspiron 9300 has been making music like aphex twin.

I figure I should get a replacement for it before it dies for good (the extra local capacity wouldn't hurt either)

So does anyone know where in HK I should go to get a replacement laptop harddrive. I haven't studied the price/quality of these things.

Can't help you on prices as they change to often, but it's a cheap place for these things.

    Wanchai Computer Centre

Expect to pay roughly $400 for 160gb hard drive.

Avoid Hitachi as I've had two fail on me in the space of a year.
Samsung Seagate and Western Digital are fine.

And most importantly, make sure you get the right type.

From some quick Googling your Dell 9300 should be IDE connection, not the more common current SATA connection.

    Edit:
    2.5 inch of course.
