    Does it need to? Most of HK's maritime pollution seems to come from container ships - unless I've misread some of the online debates.

    Do we need so solve bigger and more pressing problems first?

    Or is this yet another solution looking for a problem to be solved?

    The container ship issue can not be solved as Hong Kong now follows the GBA standards and Guangzhou is not looking to tighten levels anytime soon.

    Star Ferry's are a tourist icon and will need a refit at some point. such high usage boats should be emiyying the least

    Would be an interesting engineering exercise for sure. I think those boats are simply not watertight or capable of handling a few tons of Lithium Ion batteries...
