Telegram SMS Not Working in HK??

my Telegram app suddenly disappeared from my android phone. When I try to download and log back in with my HK number, I don’t get the SMS code—and there’s no "Call Me" option. Even with an international roaming number, the SMS/call doesn’t arrive, though the "Call Me" button appears - it doesn't work. Is there any known issue with Telegram in HK recently ? please share

Have you changed carriers? There are a few SMS OTPs that don't get through.. not sure about Telegram but even HSBC business has an outsourced provider whose OTPs don't get through on Android but work on Apple.

It's working fine for me. But I notice that I get ask from time to time to reconfirm my phone number (which I do). If you have't been doing that then maybe that's an issue.

The concept of an app "suddenly disappearing" is a bit odd though. If apps being uninstalled without your command then that would be rather worrying.

same device, same number but still not working. tried on other device but same result.

Often the HK carriers block messages (or it ends up in your device spam folder) from Telegram since OTP scams are quite popular.
