OS wars!!! he he he, depends on the user i guess... Honestly im a winmo user and a great fan of winmo devices from xda mini to xperia. The specs of this devices are great but the OS running them...s*cks b*lls, was fed up with all the crashers, hangs and lesser apps or games tho tweaking's fun..so i changed to the iphone. its simple fast and nice, lacks a lot of things that i can live without. i never xperienced any crashes or slowdowns for months now tho i tweaked it a lot. if winmo can be as fast and fluid as the iphone, im all theirs!

I'm optimistic that both devices with eventually end up fully running linux
...now if only my iphone could accept touchscreen commands or make calls

I am not a great lover of Win Mobile, in fact it annoys me to use it. However the Samsung Omnia I have been using has been the most stable WinMo device I have ever touched but just isn't good enough to sell a WinMo device to me. Actually it goes back next week and I really do not care!

I wrote a review on iPhone last year here, and got rid of my own one. However 2 weeks later I received a phone to review and it was another bloody iPhone! However I started to use it and although I dislike so many things it's unable to do and dislike things that are half done like the waste of space camera, I did start to appreciate what it can do. It is a limited device though.

For mobile OS I've have found that I have wandered into the Symbian camp.

yep, as the iphone's os is most probably the nemesis of winmo next to android or symbian. there's been a lot of comparison between the two in terms of usability and stability...

andriod is still a baby but i also believe that with continued development it'll be the next big thing to hit mobile OS.

as for the symbian os, well...i left them a few months ago when my n82
died due to an nsu update..

i am facing exactly the same problem as you. I am still debating between HD or iphone.

Iphone offers by 3, and HD offers by CSL. I think the only comparison that I have to do is the IDD plan.

winmobile is, and always will be a steaming POS

It's the only mobile OS that arrogantly places a colorful logo on all screens where you want to focus on anything but their logo.

don't get me started on their lame animations.. easing and framebuffering is a joke.. even on the HD

but yeah, android needs to grow up in the openGL world and when it does i'll be waiting. till then its iphone for the unlimited data plan and the 'app for everything' critical mass

iPhone all the way... can't beat the numerous apps that are so easily available and downloadable and how fast you can type on it! Most convenient and easy-to-use device by a long mile.
