Where does one buy electronic Musical equipments online?

    Hi,

I am trying to buy a Yamaha PSR E413 portable keyboard. Tom Lee (wanchai) has it for a price of HKD 3000.

WHen I checked in Amazon.com , there are at least 10 dealers who are quoting a price of USD 220 (around HKD 1700), and with the shipping rates they have on site , the total charge will come to a maximum of HKD 2100 (so HKD 900 less still).

Has anyone bought any heavvy stuff from USA to HK before? .. It would be around 10 kg in weight - they say that customs duty, import tax, etc are the recipient's liability - any idea how much would this total to?

Where is an equivalent of amazon.com or musiciansfriend.com or zzsounds.com in HK where I can buy musical instruments online!

    cheers!!

If brick-and-mortar stores are too expensive the alternative is to order online shipping to a friend or family US address, then either flying over to collect personally if it's delicate, or getting your friend to ship boat or air depending on the size and how soon you want the item.

From the US I've used Music123. They currently list your keyboard for $229.99 plus postage.

A better option, for something this heavy, would be to look at Japan. I've bought loads of stuff from Ishibashi and they are great. Rather than navigate their website, just email them (in English is OK, just do the usual apologies) and then call to make the payment.

For some reason Singapore is even more expensive for music equipment.

I also want to get a keyboard or digital piano. My flat is too small to fit a regular piano. Can anyone recommend a good brand/model? My budget is around 4-5k. Thanks.
