    using netvigator to connect ps3

    Im having trouble trying to get my ps3 online. Im using pccw's netvigator and right now when i try to setup the internet connection it kept telling me that they cant obtain IP address cause it timed out. Can someone teach me how to properly setup my ps3 so it can get online? Thanks

    oh and im using the modem they gave me to connect to the internet, so im using the one that my computer is using. i usually disconnect it from my computer and plug it into my ps3. not sure if thats a problem or not.

    but yeah. Thanks

    That could be the problem - Netvigator connections sometimes seem to not like two different machines being connected in quick succession. The simplest solution is probably to buy a cheap router (only a couple of hundred dollars, especially if you don't need wireless) and just connect your PC and PS3 through that. Then it's just the router than you have to set up to connect to Netvigator (before you plug the router into Netvigator plug it first into your PC and tell it to clone your PC's MAC address). The PC and PS3 whould then just connect to the router automatically.
