    Anything more than 100W (which yours is) needs a pretty bulky step-up transformer,
    (see : Step Up Transformer, Step Down Transformer, Step Up Voltage Transformer, Step Down Voltage Transformer )

    Looks like DJ008's advice is sound.

    if the item has an external transformer, ie, wii, routers, portable items, better to change the official transformer (120v ver) to a locally supplied (240v) one or even a third party one ( as long the milliampes is higher and the voltage is the same then it's fine )_

    Not sure if you've already purchased the transformer. I have one sitting in my closet that's practically brand new. It's a 1500W that I bought when I first moved here from the States.
