photoshop is cheaper in the US than in HK. Is there any problem buying in the US and using it here in HK?

No problem using it anywhere in the world.
You may have problems buying it though.
To buy from the US you either have to physically be there or have your Adobe account based there.
If you happen to set up an account with Adobe in HK (or any other country) then you will not be able to buy from the US online store.

i have an us credit card.
can i register the US product in the HK?

Registration should not be a problem, all you do is enter the serial number online, but I can't say for sure that it will work as I have not been able to buy online from Adobe since moving to HK.
My account was created in a different country, one where I no longer live or have any credit card facility, but Adobe don't allow for the fact that I have relocated.

The last time I checked the cheapest version was HK$5,600. Price.com.hk lists CS4 at HK$6,550, no ideal of availability of CS5.

Personally think the packages are good, if you know what you need.

I wouldn't want to fork out for stand alone apps since they cost more, or the master collection and have loads of apps i never use.

5600 must have been for the academic versions.

If anyone is interested i still have a CS2 design premium for sale.
Brand new, never registered and never installed.
